While canon characters exist on Mass Effect and are indeed playable, the real plot stuff lies in the Canon Roles. The Canon Roles are simply roles that can be grabbed by most anyone and bam, something's planned for them. Very simple, just apply for the role by way of putting up a bio. Once it's accepted, just post here saying which role you are taking. Very easy.
This likely won't be the final list because as things arise, more canon roles may appear, so check back often!
Note: When picking a second role, try to avoid one that would conflict with your other characters. Someone taking say, Sovereign's Vanguard and a Council Member, would face problems.
Note 2: You CAN reserve a role here for a week while you make the character. But you have only a week!
Savior of Elysium: Celeste Shepard
In 2176, a massive band of pirates, slavers, and batarians, all grouped together and launched a major offensive into the Skyllian Verge. Their intent? The total destruction of Elysium. The Savior of Elysium, facing insurmountable odds, managed to rally the colony, and hold the attackers off until help finally arrived. For their bravery, they were awarded the Star of Terra and hailed as a true hero.
Requirements: Must be human and Alliance.
Note: None
Survivor of Akuze: Open
In 2177, Akuze was in the early stages of being colonized when Systems Alliance lost all contact with the initial settlers. A Marine unit was sent to Akuze to investigate the cause of lost contact, but they found no survivors, despite discovering an intact settlement. During that night, the unit of Marines would be ambushed by Thresher maws, slaughtering the entire unit save one survivor.
Requirements: Must be human and Alliance.
Note: None
Butcher of Torfan: Alexander Hawke
In 2178, a counterattack was launched on Torfan by the Alliance in retaliation for the Skyllian Blitz back in 2176. Leading this assault was the Butcher of Torfan, who, at the cost of many men in a long, extended bloodbath, managed to slaughter nearly the entire Batarian presence. It is still a sore point amongst the two races to this day, and what the Butcher did has earned the undying hatred of the Batarians.
Requirements: Must be human and Alliance.
Note: Batarians are going to hate you.
Human Ambassador: OPEN
The Human representative to the Citadel Council.
Requirements: Must be human.
Note: Politics is a bitch, isn't it?

A Spectre held in legendary regard that has fallen to the whisperings of Sovereign. Commanding a legion of Geth, Sovereign's Vanguard plans to bring the Reapers into Citadel space, unbeknownst to everyone.
Requirements: Must be Turian.
Note: If you vanish, the character will be taken over by an admin and they're pretty much guaranteed to die.
Turian Primarch: OPEN
Stationed at Palaven, the Turian Primarch is the leader of the entire Hierarchy, and holds final command over the Hierarchy's full military power.
Requirements: Must be Turian.
Note: None.
Turian Councilor: OPEN
The Representative for the Turian Hierarchy on the Citadel Council.

Requirements: Must be Turian.
Note: None.
Sovereign's Puppet: OPEN
A Matriarch that, for one reason or another, has decided to follow Sovereign's Vanguard in bringing about the return of the Reapers. Whereas the Vanguard has access to the Geth, the Puppet has access to indoctrinated Asari Commandos.

The Shadow Broker: Red
A mythical figure sometimes thought to not even exist. The Shadow Broker runs an enormous information network that can go toe to toe with actual, organized governments. The Shadow Broker is so completely secretive that they can freely walk in society, as none know their name or appearance.
Requirements: None.
Note: No Yahg, sorry.
The Adoring Fan: OPEN
Yes. Really. We're doing this. The Adoring Fan is an extreme fan of the various heroes of the Alliance, and even has shrines too!
Requirements: Must be Human.
Note: They can be a fan of just Shepard, or Revan, or Hawke, or any mixture of the three.

Requirements: Must be Human and former Alliance.
Note: None.
Avatar of Vengeance: OPEN
The last of the long dead Protheans. Having been in cryogenic stasis for over 50 thousand years, the Avatar's memory is... fuzzy, to say the least, so their help with the reapers will be rather worthless, and they are greatly weakened from what they once were.
Requirements: Must be Prothean.
Note: This character will be the only playable Prothean. Period. If someone other than Javik takes this position, Javik does not exist or he's long dead.[/font][/ul][/div][/blockquote]
