DETAILED INFORMATION
Appearance
- If there was one thing that Nila could be called, it would be a confident woman. She carries an almost aristocratic bearing from most, with a stance and looks that belies a lifetime of military training, straight and clean, with a hard look in her eye. Her way of dressing is the same way, with most of her wardrobe being either modest yet alluring dresses or dress suits, all clean and pressed. She is known to soften her gaze or even the way she carries herself while around civilians or those that haven’t yet faced the realities of battle.
She can be quite beautiful to look at, although most of her appearance is from extensive medical prosthetics which cover most of her body; with her facial structure having the most done to it, with the right cheekbone and the upper forehead possibly the last bit of actual flesh she has left. Her eyes have taken the same prosthetic aspect, harboring fine cybernetic cables that glow a light blue color, which can strike out quite easily in the darkness. These eyes allow her to pour over information at an accelerated rate, having been connected to a cybernetic implant in the brain that allows faster recollection and informative purposes. She has a pale white in color, and stands at about five foot eight and weighs in at about one hundred and forty pounds.
Personality
- Nila owns up to the name ‘The Illusive Woman’ rather well, her favorite tactic being that of disguising her strengths as weaknesses and manipulating those who are against her into doing what she wishes with them, while taking away their strengths as well. She is somebody who is rather hands off, only taking up a weapon and fighting for herself when there are no other options, but still keeps a Kessler pistol handy for when an unpleasant event happens. She is somebody who covers her tracks quite efficiently, and is rather discrete with most things she does, making a contingency plan for even some contingency plans. She remains rather distant from everyone, keeping a business like attitude with dealing with people.
She is human-centric in mindset, doing what she does for what she believes the good of mankind, but also realizes that there are those who are rather important to the alliance, and as a result, humanity so she is completely willing to put her resources into such things. She is somebody who believes in a good ideal at heart, but with a history of crossing a grey line she is mature enough to know that not everything is as black and white as the alliance lets it soldiers believe. She dislikes the alliance strongly, but believes in humanity to a point it may seem as if she is obsessed with the ideal, which may come across for some interesting interactions between Cerberus and The Alliance.
Background
- For most of her life, the young girl known as Nila was often found moving from place to place. Hailing from a military family and was probably a spacer before they even existed; this girl was born on April 2nd, on the year 2135. She was often left to her own devices, watched by various neighbors and nannies- her parents being officers in the military and being able to afford such things. As such, Nila was never truly alone, despite her inability to create roots or harbor friendly relationships. The girl often made due without it, though- she had found herself spending her time in other ways, scribbling on paper or even watching the kids play outside, where she would occasionally join them for a while before going back inside at the behest of one of the older women watching her.
When her parents did come along, they often did fun things with the little girl, taking her on trips to various places in the world, interesting places that she always had a great time on. Her favorite places were to go and see her grandparents, however. They were a kind enough folk, although they didn’t like the fact that their family were military, mostly because of the fact that they believed a young girl needed a solid, stable home and shouldn’t be moving around as they often did. She didn’t understand that of course, being only six years old at the time. She was a happy enough girl, whose life was filled with more lulls than excitement, which lead the girl to enjoy the little things as they came. She would eventually ask her parents if she could follow in their footsteps and become a soldier as well, to which they agreed- once she was old enough to go.
At the age of fourteen, Nila found herself moving at an increasingly faster rate, with the existence of the mass effect technology and the Alliance Charter, which had changed promoted her parents and put them in charge of one of the first exploration ships, making her become one of the first spacer children in the world. This was a much more interesting change of scenery to the girl, who would often look outside of the window into the various stars for hours at a time, watching the planets go by. This was something she did the most, and would continue doing it well into her adult years. On the year 2153 after a decision made with her parents on the newly formed colony Demeter, Nila Legard enlists into the Alliance Military. The next few years began to blur to the woman, who having passed basic, joined up for sniper school, after her CO had pointed her in that direction after seeing the natural talent with weapons the girl had.
She scored well enough to become one of the Alliance Military’s top graduated snipers, beaten only by two people, just in time for what would become the First Contact War in the year 2157. The Turians had occupied the planet known as Shanxi, and she was a part of a team that was meant to take it back. It was a long month for that woman, the siege had taken quite a few of her comrades that she had considered friends, and was often sucked into nerve racking sniper fights as they pushed forward and gained ground. It would eventually be their win by way of the leadership of Admiral Kastanie Drescher, who took them by surprise in quite a few key battles, winning the battle and driving the Turians away for the time being. After the battle, Nila was promoted to the rank of Master Sergeant. She spent most of her leave with her parents, who had retired earlier that year before the war had begun.
A few years later, she was brought in by one of the higher ups for a special mission to quell an upcoming rebellion at the behest of the council, and was given charge of a few select troops. Her mission was to quell the rebellion quickly, assassinating the key figures and falsifying documents in between them to eventually ruin the rise of the rebellion. Her mission had almost been successful before she had been attacked by alliance military, her status to the military having turned MIA and was believed to be traitorous to the cause- it wasn’t until later that what she was doing was not quelling a rebellion, but stopping Alliance free trade and occupation with a local planet, and had been killing key Alliance military leaders all under the behest of a traitor that had been ratted out and arrested for conspiracy.
Nila’s ship had been attacked had destroyed with her and her men still inside it, killing her troops and leaving her with more than half her body being irrecoverably destroyed and having to be replaced with extensive prosthetics and cybernetic implants. A high ranking officer in the alliance military had offered her a choice- face life in prison for the murder of alliance military and betrayal against her world, or become a part of the Cerberus Project, a secret black ops organization drafted by the Alliance Military itself and only heard of to a select few officers. She accepted, and took the rise to be the leader of the Cerberus Project, taking on the name of “The Illusive Woman”.
